A few Sundays ago my sisters (Liz, Eileen and Jen), my sister in law (Emily), and my very best friend from high school (Megan) gave me the most beautiful baby shower. Jen hosted it at her house in Cole Valley (San Francisco) and it was just perfect. They decorated in blue and pink and even had baby pictures of Ryan and I! The invitations were adorable, the food was delicious, the decor was festive, and the company was the best. I felt so blessed to be surrounded by such good friends. I had friends fly and drive from near and far to make it, I was so appreciative of them. I had girlfriends there that I've known since 6th grade, to high school friends to college friends to City friends and family. It was wonderful! My Mom and Laura (Ryan's mom) were there to celebrate as well. I want to send a big thank you to my hostesses as it was the perfect shower, thank you!!! Baby Dunn is so lucky to have all of you to meet!

Baby Dunn's Nursery!
We are nesting!!! We ordered Baby Dunn's crib and changing table several weeks ago and got the phone call that it had arrived. So Ryan and I enlisted the help of our parent's vehicles and made our way to Lullaby Lane to pick up the furniture, what a project! We had an impromptu "putting the crib together" dinner at our house with my Mom, Dad, the Dunns, and the Fishers. John Fisher helped Ryan carry the changing table up the stairs and unpack it. Thank goodness it came assembled but that just made it extra heavy up the stairs. As you can tell from the photos there was lots of moral support for Ryan and Fish who were focused on putting piece A and bolt Z in the right places to make the crib safe and secure. After a few beers, a couple of hours we had a complete crib and changing table! Thanks Fish and Ryan!!! We love the "antique white" as it matches the molding in our house. Baby Dunn's room is certainly coming together and are getting used to having furniture in that room. More pics to come but enjoy the slide show!

Due in January!
My new favorites tee that Liz and Mark gave me, it says "due in January"! It's so comfy and tells people exactly when I'm due!
We are growing!
and growing!
We had a great 26 week check up at the doctor this past week. Ryan couldn't make it (court appearance) so I invited my Mom to join me. She got to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was quite a moment! Ryan wanted the full minute to minute update from the doctor's visit. We are right on track and doing well. I think this has been my biggest growth spurt yet. . . but I'm sure there is more to come. We now feel the baby move all the time and sometimes I feel the baby move just under my ribs and then near my hips at the same time which means the baby is getting bigger in size.

"Three years of bliss" - Ryan Dunn
The apple orchard at Carneros Inn
Our deck
Our backyard patio, relaxing.
We enjoyed our 3rd anniversary with a night away at The Carneros Inn in Napa. It was the perfect get away that made us feel so far away as it was so quiet and serene. We lounged by the pool, hung out in the gardens and on our little porch. It was a perfect anniversary. We even watched our wedding video! I had to quote Ry as the title of this post as he is just so cute. . . he says it's been "three years of bliss". I feel the same way and can't wait for many many more years with my love. We thought of all the things we've done in three years (first year of marriage, new apartments, moves x3, our travels, job searches, new jobs, buying a house and now prepping for baby Dunn just to name a few!) and we can't wait for what the future holds!

Feelings of Flutter

I know I haven't updated many of by baby bump photos but I loved this one that we took the other night. We are now 22 weeks (23 tomorrow!) along in our pregnancy and about two weeks ago we began to feel baby move. It is the most amazing feeling ever. Every morning and evening (the doctor says that my movement all day rocks the baby to sleep and that when I'm still the baby begins to move more) we feel the baby. It's as if the baby is saying good night and good morning to us. The movements are like a flutter, not a strong kick or bump but I hear those will come soon enough. Ryan loves to feel the baby and I think even gets a little bummed that he doesn't get to feel the baby move ALL the time. Sometimes I'll email him when I'm on the gbus (Google shuttle bus) on my way home that I'm feeling baby move and he writes right back! We have begun our plans and research for the nursery and wow. . .so many choices. Since we aren't going to find out the sex of our baby until the baby is born we are registering for both blues and pinks and then we'll figure the rest out. We went to Babies 'R Us this past weekend with the Fishers (who went with the help of the Brinkers who went with the Farrells!) to learn the best equipment and the "must haves" for baby. We did great, thanks to their help and our perfect model. . . Chloe!

67 Years!

Over Labor Day weekend we spent time up in Napa (a Dunn family tradition) celebrating Ryan's grandparents wedding anniversary. As many of you know, Leo and Alice are just the most amazing couple. We celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in style by going to a great restaurant in Napa called Cuvee. We had a private room to ourselves so we could tell stories, be loud and just have a good time. We are constantly in awe of their love for each other. . . how they still hold hands when they walk down the street, how they go everywhere together, and how sweet they are to each other. They are wonderful role models for us and we cherish them. Lots of love and happiness to Alice and Leo! Cheers!

Practice, Practice, Practice!
Last Sunday night, Jen and John got the rare opportunity to volunteer at an Obama fundraiser in San Francisco . They were looking for someone to babysit Chloe while they went to support and meet Barack Obama (Fishers are big fans!). We knew this was a big opportunity for them as Fisher is a precint captain for Cole Valley so we offered to babysit Chloe Bean (as we like to call her!) and we figured it was good practice!
Chloe was a doll all day. She came over to our house and then she slept, she ate, she giggled, she smiled and then she did it all over again. We set her up in the pack 'n play in Baby Dunns room so we even got to break in the nursery. Ryan and I took her for a long walk in the neighborhood and practiced walking up the hills while pushing a stroller (wow, what a workout. . . I think Ryan is looking into an "electric stroller" for Baby Dunn and the SF hills!). We had a great time with her and she was perfect practice for us, although, Chloe does have the reputation in the family as being an "easy" baby! Enjoy some photos of our time with Chloe!
